here i am wearing:two pairs of pants, a dress, four sweaters, two sweatshirts, a shawl, and two scarves....seems like a coat would be a lot easier...eh?

I was just thinking that. (That a coat would be easier) There's this client of ours that wears a suit jacket and a scarf. He says all he needs is a scarf. Crazy!
And we still forgot to look at the blogger dashboard...Ah well.

Snow, glorious snow! It looks beautiful! All we have here is this icy stuff and it is all going to melt tomorrow anyway. The irony of you living in the snow and me living where we get so little never falls to amaze me.
By the way, I think you were scared by a big, ratty looking lambskin coat when you were small. You obviously never got over it :-).
I like to treat the cold the same way: layers. I wear layers in the house, too, to save on energy, so that when I go out to shovel, all I need are head and neck covering and a light jacket to keep the snow off my indoor clothes!
I rarely use gloves or mittens, either, preferring to tuck my hands up in a long sleeve where they are toasty warm.
